The purpose of this study was to investigate whether and at which level the environmental knowledge, responsibility and behaviour are mutually interrelated. The study included 252 participants from 18 primary and secondary public schools of Belgrade, who, on the basis of certain criteria, can be considered representative for Serbia. A linear dependence was found between environmental knowledge and responsibility, as well as between responsibility and behaviour, whereas it was not present between knowledge and behaviour. Results indicate that formal and informal education in Serbia must be made more effective in upgrading environmental knowledge, personal moral norms and pro-environmental habits among young people.en
