The first conception of the world was given in philosophy which was the only theoretical science at the time. At had to answer too many questions which is why special sciences and disciplines developed from it. Cartography, an old science, was invented out of human need to take an inventory of space. On the subject matter and method of cartography there are various opinions. Although the roots of cartography go far back into the past it has been established as a science since the work of Mark Ekart. Four concepts can be distinguished, of which two place a map in the centre of scientific attention (Saliscev, Amberger). Two other concepts (Ratajski, Aslanikasvili) were conceived as a criticism on the previous two concepts. By application of cartographic method many gnoseological problems such as spatial definition of material objects and phenomena, temporal correlation of processes and phenomena of reality and their evolutionary character and essential definition of objects, phenomena and relations in real world may be solved. There are categories of geodesic and geographic space. The boundaries of geospace may be straight-lined or curved, i.e. meridians or parallels or coastal lines, state frontiers, administrative frontiers. The sense of temporal changes is characterized by cartography in two ways, as follows: by defining temporal adverb or by localization of objects and phenomena.en
