Functional classification of settlements in the Mačva, Šabačka posavina and Pocerina region

Abstract

The system of settlements in this region is characterized by a 100 villages and 2 towns. Mačvanska Mitrovica is small town and Šabac is gravitation centre and centre of development. The paper deals with the methodological approach and theoretical conceptions which could cast a new light on he development and distribution of the system of settlements on the territory of this region. There are presented in the paper a new method of functional classification of settlements. Method throwing new light on ternar diagram and method worked out by J.C. Weaver and maybe able arouse interest among geographers.

U radu je primenjena nova metoda tenarnog dijagrama za funkcionalnu klasifikaciju naselja. Funkcionalni tipovi naselja su dovedeni u vezu sa stepenom funkcionalne zavisnosti, stabilnosti i hijerarhije prostornog uticaja naselja.
