Active learning in geography instruction-class model

Abstract
Actual Geography instruction demands teacher's permanent advanced training by broadening and improving their knowledge of Geography as science. Professional development of a teacher means advanced training in teaching methods, as well as in planning and realization of teaching process. Basic active learning project aims are to increase educational effects in Geography instruction and change students' position in the process of teaching. What is also important is to notice and analyze problems in the teaching of Geography, to give methodical assistance to teachers of Geography as well as to motivate and induce teachers' creativity in making new models of scenarios for classes of active learning.
Savremena nastava geografije zahteva permanentno usavršavanje nastavnika proširivanjem i nadograđivanjem njihovih znanja iz geografije kao nauke. Samim tim i profesonalni razvoj nastavnika podrazumeva usavršavanja u metodici rada, kao i planiranju i realizaciji procesa nastave. Osnovni ciljevi projekta aktivnog učenje su povećanje obrazovnih efekata u nastavi geografije i promena položaja učenika u nastavnom procesu. Takođe je važno da se uoče i analiziraju problemi koji prate nastavu geografije, da se nastavnicima geografije pruži metodička pomoć, kao i da se podigne motivacija i podstakne kreativnost nastavnika u izradi novih modela scenarija za časove aktivnog učenja.
