Cartographic modeling of the urban and rural population concentration in Serbia

Abstract

The opposite demographic courses have resulted in expressive polarization of the area of Serbia on zones of pressures (urban centers) and zones of emptiness (rural settlements). By applying the cartographic method a relation between the areas and population of urban and rural settlements of the Serbia district has been presented as an index of their concentration degree. By constructing the combined sign, a concrete and thematic area has been presented by using a corresponding type of the area - semi-scale. The complete metric coordination and mutual comparability of all series of signs have been attained by the proportional constructing of the thematic map contents.

Suprotni demografski tokovi su rezultirali izrazitom polarizacijom prostora Srbije na zone pritisaka (urbani centri) i zone pražnjenja (seoska naselja). Primenom kartografskog metoda predstavljen je odnos površina i stanovništva gradskih i seoskih naselja okruga Srbije, kao pokazatelj stepena njihove koncentracije. Konstruisanjem kombinovanog znaka predstavljena je konkretna i tematizovana površina uz korišćenje odgovarajuće vrste areasemiorazmera. Razmernim konstruisanjem tematske sadržine karata postignuta je potpuna metrička usklađenost i međusobna uporedivost svih serija znakova.
