AB  - The appearence of geostatistics and geographical information systems has made it possible to analyze complex spatial patterns of meteorological elements over large areas in the applied climatology. The objective of this study is to use geostatistics to characterize the spatial structure and map the spatial variation of average values of precipitation for a 30-year period in Serbia. New, recently introduced, geostatistical algorithms facilitate utilization of auxiliary variables especially remote sensing data or freely available global datasets. The data from Advanced Spaceborn Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer global digital elevation model are incorporated as ancillary variables into spatial prediction of average annual precipitation using geostatistical method known as regression kriging. The R (2) value of 0.842 proves high performance result of the prediction of the proposed method.

Landspout across Novi Beograd, 24 may 2012: Synoptic analysis

AB  - In this study we have analysed a case of the landspout across Novi Beograd on 24 May 2012. We have used a synoptic analysis method in the research and the description of the landspout event is based on visual evidence and photographs. According to the available data, it can be concluded that there were favourable conditions for a landspout development since there was a process and an increased amount of instability. The landspout occured within the northeast stream which moved over Belgrade and further toward the southeast and west. Based upon synoptic data analysis, it can't be said that there was a cold air advection. Surface air was warm enough, but not the air in the upper layers of the atmosphere. The conditions for a landspout development were favourable - high relative air humidity and increased vertical and horizontal air currents.
AB  - U radu je prikazan slučaj pojave trombe 24.05.2012. na Novom Beogradu. U istraživanju je korišćen metod sinoptičke analize, a opis pojave trombe temelji se na vizuelnom opažanju i fotografijama. Prema raspoloživim podacima može se zaključiti da su uslovi za razvoj trombe bili povoljni, jer je postojao i proces i povećana energija nestabilnosti. Tromba se javila u sklopu severoistočne struje koja se premeštala preko Beograda dalje na jugozapad i zapad. Na osnovu analize sinoptičkog materijala, ne može se reći da se radilo o advekciji jako hladnog vazduha. Bilo je dovoljno toplote u prizemlju, ali ne i po visini. Postojali su povoljni uslovi za nastanak trombe - visoka vlažnost vazduha, izražena vertikalna i horizontalna strujanja.

Fire protection problems with large forest fires in Deliblatska peščara (Serbia)

AB  - Purpose - The aim of the paper was to investigate the major forest fires in Deliblatska peščara, as well as to analyze the efficiency of fire protection measures. Design / methodology / approach - The analysis included interviews with participants in extinguishing the major fires. The questions referred to the course of fires, as well as to the main fire protection disadvantages. The documentation of the 'Banat' Forest Management - Pančevo (Public Enterprise 'Vojvodinašume') was also used in the paper for the period 1948-2012. Findings - The major forest fires in Deliblatska peščara in the studied period were recorded in 1973, 1990, 1996 and 2007. Although they account for only about 1.5 % of the total number of fires, they collectively have invaded more than half of the total burnt area and more than two-thirds of the forest area. According to the surveys, the main characteristics of these fires were: frequent appearance of new fire hot spots, strong wind variable in direction which crucially affects the spread of fire and the impossibility of direct action on fire. The main disadvantages of fire protection were: inefficiency of fire breaks, blockage of forest roads for the passage of vehicles and the lack of the modern means of fire protection equipment. Research limitations / implications - Given the specificities of the studied area (the absence of surface water, sandy soils, microclimate conditions and vegetation composition), the research results cannot be fully generalized for Serbia. Practical implications - The research results indicate the need for making changes in the fire prevention system, as well as the possibility of fire danger forecast based on the heliocentric hypothesis. Originality / value - What has been the importance of the paper is that it provides the basis for a new approach to the planning of fire prevention measures.

Precipitation extremes in the wettest Mediterranean region (Krivosije) and associated atmospheric circulation types

AB  - The aim of this paper is to analyse indices of extreme precipitation in Krivosije, Montenegro, the wettest Mediterranean region, from the period 1951-2007 and their relationships with atmospheric circulation using 'SynopVis Grosswetterlagen' (SVG) series. Data from two stations were analysed, namely Crkvice (42A degrees 34 ' N and 18A degrees 39 ' E) and Herceg Novi (42A degrees 27 ' N and 18A degrees 31 ' E). Four indices of precipitation extremes (SDII, R75p, R95p, R95pTOT) were assessed including number of dry days. The results suggest that the number of days with precipitation decreased. To analyse the relationship between extreme precipitation events and circulation types we have used an efficiency coefficient (E-c). Regarding relation to atmospheric circulation, westerly, southwesterly and northwesterly circulation types with anticyclonic features over Central Europe are more frequent for dry days (days with R  lt  1.0 mm) and northerly, easterly and southerly types for wet and very wet days (R75p and R95p indices). The types with cyclonic condition over Central Europe show a large proportion of wet and very wet days. Also, activity of Genoa cyclogenesis and orographic influence over a small area are the main reasons for the high precipitation amounts recorded in the Krivosije region (Crkvice).

AB  - This paper examines the relationship between North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and damage made by insects in Serbian forests. The damage has been separated into three groups: bark beetles, gypsy moth and damage made by other insects. For North Atlantic Oscillation the NAO index is used. The period of investigation was 1969-2001. Data were studied on an annual scale as well as with five-year moving averages. Analysis showed a statistically significant correlation for NAO index and gypsy moth.

Extreme precipitation in Republika Srpska: 2010 and 2011 analyses

AB  - One of the consequences of global and regional climate changes is the alterations in the intensity and frequency of precipitation in certain areas and on local levels. This paper presents monthly precipitation in 2010 and 2011, with deviations that are measured in millimeters and given in percentage and in accordance to percentiles, based on which we estimated the category of rainfall/aridity that is further connected with probability, i.e. reassurance period. Based on the analysis of precipitation, it was estimated that 2010 was extremely rainy regarding the period of past 60 years and that 2011 was most arid over the period of interest. The results implied the necessity to include data on risks of extreme climate phenomena, in this case, precipitation, when it comes to creating plans and strategic documents of Republika Srpska. Besides, frequent shifts of extremely rainy and arid years and their influence on floods and drains affect the complexity of technical and technological solutions for irrigation and drainage systems. In other words, extreme precipitation should be a crucial parameter of the integral management of the water resources in Republika Srpska.
AB  - Jedna od posljedica globalnih i regionalnih klimatskih promjena su i promjene intenziteta i frekvencija padavina u pojedinim oblastima ili lokalno. U radu su prikazane mjesečne količine padavina tokom 2010. i 2011. sa odstupanjima u milimetrima i procentualno kao i prema pripadajućem percentilu, na osnovu čega se i utvrđuje kategorija kišnosti/sušnosti a koji je u vezi s vjerovatnoćom tj povratnim periodom. Na bazi analiza količine padavina utvrđeno je da je 2010. godina bila ekstremno kišna u posljednjih 60 godina a da je 2011. godina bila najsušnija u instrumentalnom periodu. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na neophodnost uključivanja podataka o rizicima ekstremnih klimatskih pojava, u ovom slučaju padavina, kod izrade planskih i strateških dokumenata Republike Srpske. Sem toga, česte smjene ekstremno kišnih i sušnih godina i njihov uticaj na pojavu poplava i suša utiču i na kompleksnost kod tehničkih i tehnoloških rješenja za izgradnju sistema za navodnjavanje ali i odvodnjavanja voda. Drugim riječima, ekstremne padavine treba da budu veoma bitan parametar integralnog upravljanja vodnim resursima Republike Srpske.

AB  - The goal of this paper is to determine the state of extreme air temperature in Republic of Srpska and to establish their thresholds as the limits of unsuitability of the climate. The air temperature much above and much below was investigated. The spatial distribution of minimal air temperatures in Republic of Srpska during the studied period 2006-2010 shows the meridian, parallel and altitude regularity. The average annual maximums increase slowly from the north towards the south and insignificantly from the west towards the east of Republic of Srpska.
AB  - Cilj ovog rada je da se utvrdi stanje ekstremnih vrednosti temperature vazduha u Republici Srpskoj i odrede njihovi pragovi kao granice nepovoljnosti klime. Proučavane su temperatura vazduha mnogo ispod normalne i temperatura vazduha mnogo iznad normalne. Prostorni raspored minimalnih temperatura vazduha u Republici Srpskoj tokom proučavanog perioda 2006-2010. godina pokazuje meridijansku, uporedničku i visinsku zakonomernost. Srednji godišnji maksimumi sporo rastu od severa ka jugu i neznatno od zapada ka istoku Republike Srpske.

AB  - The global warming and climate change are the actual and challenging topics. Recently there is one question, frequently asked: whether today's climate is changing? The studies of this issues are mainly related to the two the most important climatic elements - air temperature and precipitation amounts. We have done research about temperature variability for Montenegro and the main aim of this paper is analysis precipitation changes for station Podgorica (Montenegro) in the period of systematic observation - are there changes, to what extent and whether they are significant. According to the results, accumulated precipitation do not show significant changes for annual and seasonal values in the period 1951-2010. The interannual variations of the precipitation (which are characteristic for this climate element) do not show increases in recent times. The component trend shows some changes, but statistically insignificant. The previous results for precipitation conditions in Podgorica are not in accordance with the concept of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which predicted a general decrease in precipitation and increase variability on this area.
AB  - Globalno otopljavanje i kolebanje klime je aktuelna i izazovna tema. Pitanje koje se u poslednje vreme najčešće postavlja je: da li se menja današnja klima? Istraživanja iz ove problematike su uglavnom vezana za dva najvažnija klimatska elementa - temperaturu vazduha i količinu padavina. Obzirom da smo neka istraživanja već radili, a bila su vezana za utvrđivanje promena temperature vazduha u Crnoj Gori, osnovni cilj ovog rada je bio da se utvrdi šta se dešava sa padavinskim prilikama u Podgorici u periodu sistematskih osmatranja - da li promene postoje, u kojem obimu i da li su one značajne. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da se sa akumuliranim padavinama u Podgorici, u periodu 1951-2010., ništa bitnije ne dešava, kako na sezonskom tako i na godišnjem nivou. Međugodišnje varijacije, koje inače karakterišu ovaj element, nisu povećane u poslednje vreme. Trend komponenta pokazuje izvesne promene, ali su one statistički nesignifikantne. Dosadašnji rezultati istraživanja padavinskih prilika na području Podgorice ne uklapaju se sasvim u koncept Međuvladinog panela za klimatske promene (IPCC), koji predviđa opšte smanjenje količine padavina u našim krajevima i povećanje varijabilnosti.

AB  - The recent climate changes, among others, have contributed to the change in elevation of the upper tree line in high mountainous areas. At the same time, direct anthropogenic impact on the fragile ecosystems of high mountains has also been significant. The aim of this paper is to determine the actual dynamics of the formation of upper tree line in eastern Serbia and to identify the recent factors which condition it. The results obtained show that preconditions have been accomplished for the upper tree line increase, but this has not completely been confirmed by previous field researches.

Stratospheric ozone fluctuation and ultraviolet radiation over Serbia

AB  - Increased ultraviolet radiation potentially detrimental to health is a direct effect of the reduced ozone layer of the Earth's atmosphere. Stratospheric ozone over the territory of Serbia and immediate surrounding depleted in the considered period of 1979-2008; its amount reduced by 7.6%. Solar and volcanic activities have significant effect on the interannual variability of the stratospheric ozone. Ozone layer over Serbia is 13.8% thicker than the planetary layer, with the ozone hole forming once in five years on average without serious health implications.
AB  - Smanjenje debljine ozonskog omotača Zemlje direktno utiče na povećanje ultravioletnog zračenja sa potencijalnim efektima na zdravlje ljudi. U radu je ispitivana dinamika stratosferskog ozona nad teritorijama Srbije i neposrednog okruženja u periodu 1979-2008. godine. Konstatovan je kumulativni pad debljine ozona za 7.6%. Ukazano je na uticaj Sunčeve i vulkanske aktivnosti na međugodišnju varijabilnost debljine stratosferskog ozona. Debljina ozonskog omotača nad teritorijom Srbije je za 13.8% veća od planetarne, a ozonske 'rupe' se javljaju prosečno jednom u 5 godina i ne predstavljaju ozbiljniju pretnju po zdravlje stanovništva.

Atmospheric circulation and the precipitation variability in Serbia for period 1949-2004

AB  - In this paper we have analyzed the correlation between the atmospheric circulation and annual precipitation in Serbia for period 1949-2004. The data for frequency Hess-Brezowsky circulation forms and types were used as indicators of atmospheric circulation. Statistically significant coefficient of a negative sign is obtained for zonal and half-meridional form and a positive sign for meridional form. The strength of correlation is not uniform in the space. According to the multiple linear regression the contribution of atmospheric circulation in the variability annual precipitation of Serbia is 69%. Also, we analyzed the connection between the atmospheric circulation and the mean annual cloudiness. Comparing the results for this two climate elements we have concluded that they show different time-space development for same macrosynoptic conditions. Also, we can speak about the regional aspects of these processes. .
AB  - U ovom radu analizirana je povezanost između cirkulacije atmosfere i godišnjih padavinskih suma u Srbiji za period 1949-2004. Kao pokazatelji cirkulacije atmosfere korišćeni su podaci za učestalost Hes-Brezovski cirkulacionih formi i tipova. Statistički značajna veza negativnog znaka dobija se za zonalnu i polumeridionalnu formu i pozitivnog znaka za meridionalnu formu. Pokazane su i neravnomernosti u prostornom rasporedu jačine veze. Zahvaćenost varijanse godišnjih suma padavina Srbije u celini cirkulacijom atmosfere je 69%. U radu je takođe analizirana veza između cirkulacije atmosfere i srednje godišnje oblačnosti u Srbiji. Poređenjem rezultata za ova dva klimatska elementa zaključuje se da oni pokazuju različit prostorno-vremenski razvoj pri istim makrosinoptičkim uslovima. Takođe, može se govoriti i o regionalnom aspektu navedenih procesa. .

AB  - The connection between the solar flux at 2.8 GHz (based on mean monthly values) and the outbreaks of gypsy moths (Lymantria dispar L.) in Serbia was investigated. The researches included six outbreaks from 1952 to 2007. The average values of the solar flux ranged between 83.8 and 101.8 sfu during the outbreaks, whereas they were between 147.9 and 188.3 sfu for the periods without outbreaks. The results of the research showed that the increase in the number of gypsy moths appears when the values of the solar flux at 2.8 GHz range from 70 to 120 sfu.

Possible causes of contemporary Nisava River discharge variability

AB  - Nisava River is the largest tributary of the South Morava River of length 248 km, of which 151 km is in Serbia. Annually to all three hydrological profiles (Pirot, Bela Palanka and Nis) in the reporting period (1961-2000) has been observed decrease in discharge. That would be in accordance with the IPCC's claims about the domination of the influence of anthropogenic greenhouse gases on the reduction of rainfall and discharge in Serbia. However, the area of the Nisava basin in the second half of the XX century has shown decrease in air temperature. The station Dimitrovgrad, in the upper part of the basin, from 1949 to 2007 showed trend of annual temperature of -0.0049ºC per year, which does not fit to the concept of dominance of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. And the trend of rainfall in this period, changes sign from negative to positive (0.1175mm per year), so that it does not fit the concept of domination of the global anthropogenic impact on regional models of IPCC. Regarding to this and projections of possible climate change in the future all potential climatic factors should be taking into account.
AB  - Nišava je najveća pritoka Južne Morave dužine 248 km, od čega u Srbiji 151 km. Na godišnjem nivou se na sva tri hidrološka profila (Pirot, Bela Palanka i Niš) u posmatranom periodu (1961-2000) uočava pad proticaja. To bi bilo u skladu sa tvrdnjama IPCC-a o dominantnom uticaju antropogenog efekta staklene bašte na smanjenje padavina i proticaja reka u Srbiji. Međutim, na području sliva Nišave je u drugoj polovini HH veka došlo do pada temperature vazduha. Na stanici Dimitrovgrad, u gornjem delu sliva, periodu od 1949. do 2007. trend godišnje temperature iznosi -0,0049ºC po godini, što se ne uklapa u koncept dominacije antropogenog efekta staklene bašte. I trend padavina u tom periodu menja znak od negativnog ka pozitivnom (0.1175mm po godini), tako da se ni on ne uklapa u koncept dominacije globalnog antropogenog uticaja po regionalnim modelima IPCC-a. S tim u vezi, i u projekcijama eventualnih promena klime u budućnosti treba pristupiti kompleksnije, imajući u vidu sve potencijalne klimatske faktore.

Temperature and precipitation changes in Serbia in the second half of the 20th century in the context of global climate change

AB  - The paper deals with temperature and precipitation trends in the period 1949 -2006 recorded in the network of 18 meteorological stations in Serbia. The second half of the 20th century is particularly interesting for this type of research, because in this period, according to statements of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), anthropogenic influence has a dominant role in climate oscillations. This influence is reflected in the increase in global temperature, while in our region it should be noted first of all as decrease of precipitation quantity. For detecting and evaluation of trends Mann-Kendall test was used. Due to poor sensitivity to individual errors and outlayers (i.e. rare, atypical extreme values), for evaluation of the trend movement Senn's method was chosen. At annual level, in several stations (Belgrade, Negotin, Zaječar, Palić, Sombor, Prizren, Zlatibor, Sjenica), statistically significant upward air temperature trend has been noted. At the level of the whole Serbian territory upward air temperature trend is present, although without statistical significance (z=1,44). Similar results have been obtained by the analysis of absolutely maximum air temperatures. Only in Vranje, Smederevska Palanka and Sombor statistically significant upward trend is present; when absolutely minimum temperatures are in question neither upward nor downward trends have been detected in any of the stations. When precipitation is in question (at annual level) insignificant positive trend (z=0,64) has been noted for Serbia on the whole. Negotinska Krajina shows significant negative trend, while the extreme south regions, i.e. south west regions of Serbia (Zlatibor, Sjenica, Prizren) demonstrate statistically significant positive trend. According to this, temperature changes in Serbia in the second half of the 20th century demonstrate to be in compliance with the global change, although they are statistically insignificant. Changes in total precipitation quantities do not justify the hypothesis on dominance of the anthropogenic greenhouse effect. Annual draught index according to Em. de Marton records irrelevant changes, on the basis of which a conclusion could be drawn that in Serbia on the whole there has been no change in landscape type in the monitored period. In order to examine characteristics of the monitored climatic elements their seasonal values have been analyzed as well. .
AB  - U radu su obrađeni trendovi temperatura i padavina u periodu 1949-2006. na mreži od 18 meteoroloških stanica u Srbiji. Druga polovina dvadesetog veka je posebno interesantna za ovu vrstu istraživanja jer u njoj po tvrdnjama Međuvladinog panela za klimatske promene (IPCC) u klimatskim kolebanjima dominira antropogeni uticaj. Taj uticaj se uočava kao globalni porast temperature, a u našem regionu, bi trebalo pre svega da se uoči kao smanjenje količine padavina. Za detektovanje i ocenu trenda korišćen je Man-Kendalov test. Zbog slabe osetljivosti na pojedinačne greške i autlejere (tj. retke, atipično ekstremne vrednosti), za ocenu nagiba trenda je odabran Senov pristup. Na godišnjem nivou, na nekoliko stanica (Beograd, Negotin, Zaječar, Palić, Sombor, Prizren, Zlatibor, Sjenica) je uočen statistički značajan uzlazni trend temperature vazduha. Na nivou cele Srbije, postoji uzlazni trend temperature vazduha, ali bez statističke značajnosti (z=1,44). Slični rezultati se dobijaju i pri analizi apsolutno maksimalnih temperatura vazduha. Da bi se što detaljnije ispitale karakteristike posmatranih klimatskih elemenata, analizirane su i njihove sezonske vrednosti.

AB  - In the presented paper correlation between the northern part of the Atlantic ocean (belt between 50-65°N) and the atmospheric pressure is examined. Connection between the ocean temperature and atmospheric pressure is the most obvious in the El Nino southern oscillation mechanism. Thus, so far it is not known that such a mechanism exist in the Atlantic ocean. The main accent in the presented paper is focused on the connection between Iceland low and the sea surface temperature (SST) in the subpolar part of the Atlantic ocean (used data are in grid 5x5°). By hierarchical cluster analysis five relatively unified clusters of sea surface temperatures grid cells are defined. By multiple linear regression, we examined the correlation between each of the depicted clusters with position and intensity of Iceland low, and identified the most important grid cells inside every cluster. The analysis of the relation between Iceland low and air temperature in Serbia and Belgrade has shown the strongest correlation for the longitude of this centre of action. .
AB  - U radu je ispitivana veza između temperature vode severnog dela Atlantskog okeana (pojas od 50-65°N) i atmosferskog pritiska. Povezanost okeana i atmosfere se najočiglednije manifestuje u mehanizmu El Ninjo južne oscilacije. Međutim, koliko je poznato, u Atlantskom okeanu ne postoji ekvivalent El Ninja, niti ovako jasno izražena povezanost između temperature okeana i atmosfere. Težište istraživanja je stavljeno na ispitivanje povezanosti Islandskog minimuma sa promenama temperature vode u subpolarnom pojasu Atlantika (datim u mreži 5x5°). Hijerarhijskom klasterskom analizom je izdvojeno pet relativno ujednačenih klastera temperature vode subpolarnog dela Atlantskog okeana. Njihova povezanost sa položajem i intenzitetom Islandskog minimuma ispitana je višestrukom linearnom regresijom. Ustanovljeno je koji od klastera najviše utiče na geografsku širinu, geografsku dužinu i intenzitet Islandskog minimuma i koja od gridnih ćelija u okviru svakog od klastera predstavlja najznačajnije prediktore. Ispitivanjem odnosa između položaja i intenziteta Islandskog minimuma sa temperaturom vazduha u Srbiji i Beogradu, ustanovljeno je da je najsnažnija povezanost sa geografskom dužinom ovog akcionog centra. .

AB  - Wildfire in Deliblatska Pescara (Serbia) on July 24th 2007 is discussed from the hypothesis on the influence of Sun processes and resulting ignition. The work hypothesis is related with establishing the eventual connection between the phenomena of energy source of corpuscular radiation on the Sun and the phenomena of the initial phase of wildfire event. Having in mind existing lack of information on recent explanations for certain number of cases concerning the causes that strengthened the ignition, it was necessary to check the parameters that could, in this case, provide the explanation of the potential causality. It turned out that, at that time, not only wildfires occurred in direct surroundings of Deliblatska Pescara but they also seized numerous locations of southern Europe and northern Africa, as well as, certain parts of Canada. The coincidence of these events has pointed out that the hypothesis on the penetration of charged particles towards Earth, in two basic ways, may also be confirmed in this case. According to our results, the mentioned penetration caused air mass seizing, thus dictating different weather circumstances in the area of Mediterranean, as well as in the most northern part of America. The aim of this work was to test the heliocentric hypothesis on wildfires through this example, as well as to point argumentatively the Solar wind influence on hydrodynamic processes in the atmosphere.

AB  - In this paper the near surface and tropospheric temperature trends are compared on the territory of Vojvodina were inves­tigated, on the basis of four sets of data from ground-based and satellite observation, for the period 1979-2005. The trend analysis has shown that there is no amplification of trend of air temperature increase with altitude. On the basis of our calcu­lations, we obtained the results that the air temperature increase in Vojvodina, approximately 1.5 times higher in the near-sur­face layer, compared to lower and middle layers of troposphere. This shows flat or decreasing amplification with altitude, in contrary to some models.

Actual condition of ozone layer on earth with a special review on Serbia

AB  - This paper's aim is survey of the most recent results on the stratospheric ozone condition on Earth and under Serbian territory, identification of possible causes of its dynamics, as well as projection of condition of stratospheric layer in the future. The decrease of emissions and concentrations of substances that cause ozone depletion is concluded, ozone layer is not in the state of further decomposition while the role of natural factors in its dynamics is much obvious and more significant than previously considered. During period 1979-2005 the decrease of ozone concentration was noticed under Serbian territory cumulatively for 24.5 DU (7.2%). However, by method of flexible trend it was established that process of ozone layer covering dominated from pentad 1992-1996. Inter-annual variations of stratospheric ozone concentration under Serbia have still been in the function of natural causes such as solar and volcanic activities. Key words: ozone layer, ozone holes, Serbia, CFC, natural factors.
AB  - Cilj rada je pregled najnovijih rezultata stanja stratosferskog ozona na Zemlji i Srbiji, utvrđivanje mogućih uzroka njegove dinamike, kao i projekcije stanja stratosferskog ozona u budućnosti. Konstatovano je da emisije i koncentracije supstanci koje oštećuju ozonski omotač opadaju, ozonski omotač se dalje ne razgrađuje, a uloga prirodnih faktora u njegovoj dinamici je jasnija i značajnija nego što se ranije smatralo. U periodu 1979-2005, došlo je do pada koncentracije ozona nad teritorijom Srbije kumulativno za 24,5 DU (7,2%). Međutim, metodom fleksibilnog trenda utvrđeno je da od pentade 1992-1996. dominira proces oporavka ozonskog omotača. Međugodišnje varijacije koncentracije stratosferskog ozona nad Srbijom i dalje su u funkciji prirodnih faktora, kao što su Sunčeva i vulkanska aktivnost.

AB  - Considering the actual scenario of contemporary global climate changes and their possible influence on forest fires, the connections between temperature changes and precipitations on fires have been examined in Deliblatska pescara. The basic characteristics of fires have been analyzed in the area which is considered the most endangered in Serbia. The decreasing trend of annual number of fires was ascertained for period the 1948-2002. However, the trend of annual temperature and precipitation changes is not in accordance with the trend of annual number of fires. Some seasonal aspects related with the change of climate elements cannot also explain the decreasing number of fires. A rising trend of annual fire spread surface have been ascertained, which is in accordance with air temperature rise at the end of the 20th century. However, five extreme values were far above the upper standard deviation, which was explained by non climate factors (increase of surface under pine trees, mistakes during fire extinguishing and similar).

AB  - The aim of this paper is to identify ozone layer dynamics under Serbian area, as well as possible relations of change in stratospheric ozone concentration with some parameters of solar activity. During the period 1979-2005, the statistical decrease of ozone concentration was noticed under Serbian territory cumulatively for 24.5 DU (7.2%), apropos 9.4 DU (2.8%) by decade. These changes are consistent with the changes in surrounding countries. From absolute minimum 1993, flexible trend of ozone layer pentad values validate hypotheses of its recovery. Correspondence of ozone thickness extreme period with Wolf's number and with the greatest volcanic eruptions shows that interannual variations of stratospheric ozone concentration are still in the function of natural factors above all, as are solar and volcanic activities. Investigation of larger number solar activity parameters shows statistically important anti phase synchronous between the number of polar faculae on the Sun and stratospheric ozone dynamics under Serbia. Respecting that relation between these two features until now isn't depicted, some possible causal mechanisms are proposed.
AB  - Cilj rada je utvrđivanje dinamike ozonskog omotača nad Srbijom, kao i moguće veze promena koncentracije stratosferskog ozona sa pojedinim parametrima Sunčeve aktivnosti. U periodu 1979-2005, došlo je do statistički značajnog pada koncentracije ozona nad teritorijom Srbije kumulativno za 24,5 DU (7,2%), odnosno 9,4 DU (2,8%) po dekadi. Te promene su u skladu sa promenama u susednim zemljama.Od apsolutnog minimuma 1993., fleksibilni trend pentadnih vrednosti ozonskog omotača opravdava hipotezu o njegovom oporavku. Podudaranje ekstremnih perioda debljine ozona sa Volfovim brojem i najvećim vulkanskim erupcijama ukazuje na to da su međugodišnje varijacije koncentracije stratosferskog ozona i dalje u funkciji pre svega prirodnih faktora, kao što su Sunčeva i vulkanska aktivnost. Ispitivanjem većeg broja pokazatelja Sunčeve aktivnosti, uočena je statistički značajna sinhrona antifaznost između broja polarnih fakula na Suncu i dinamike stratosferskog ozona nad Srbijom. S obzirom da veza između ove dve pojave do sada nije opisana, predloženi su mogući uzročni mehanizmi.

AB  - Relations between discharge changes and solar activity are very complex and this is the reason why the obtained results are often contradictory. In this paper we tray to explore possible relation between Danube river discharge elements and parameters of solar activity. The best result has been found between flow index and latitude of sunspots. According to literature we propose possible mechanism of solar activity influence on the discharge.
AB  - Veze između promena proticaja i sunčeve aktivnosti veoma su složene, zbog čega su dobijeni rezultati često protivrečni. U radu smo pokušali da ispitamo moguću vezu između elemenata proticaja Dunava i parametara sunčeve aktivnosti. Najbolji rezultat dobijen je za vezu između indeksa vodnosti i asimetrije heliografske širine sunčevih pega. Na osnovu literature predložen je mogući mehanizam uticaja sunčeve aktivnosti na proticaj.

Climate zoning and position of the upper forest limit on the Mt. Stara Planina

AB  - In the distinctive mountsinod area of the Mt. Stara Planina, mesoclimate zoning was performed with certain generalization level in climate zone separation. Furthermore, due to lack of available data base, the aforementioned altitude zoning must not be considered strictly within presented altitude volumes. Outstanding terrain dissection, different level of vegetation covering and enhanced impact of secondary, i.e. tertiary climate modificators in certain parts of the Mt. Stara Planina, may create microclimate or topoclimate conditions which essentially differ from the present quantitative values of climatic elements in sub-mountainous, mountainous or high-mountainous areas. This fact is particularly apparent if we have in mind that the climate is one of the essential factors for creation of the relief periglacial forms; their inventory and systematization as well as complex population analysis could indirectly offer data on climate conditions in huge areas which are not covered by meteorological monitoring. However, quantification of climate elements in this region is a methodological problem which requires qualitatively different access and a different data base. Substantial lack of appropriate climatologic data has been substituted by particularly detailed study on vegetation of this mountain area with data on climatogene communities and communities for which there are good climatic indicators (particularly communities with detailed measurements in other mountainous areas); as far as the areas above the upper forest limit are concerned, detailed research has been performed regarding the recent periglacial processes and their relief forms as direct climatic-geomorphologic indicators of the high mountains (periglacial) climate. We believe that this attempt of climate zoning of the Mt. Stara Planina, as distinctive mountainous area, by comparison of detailed vegetation and periglacial-geomorphologic research as well as research of the upper forest limit, is the only proper way of performing this task due to lack of instrumental measurements at high altitudes. .
AB  - U radu je učinjen pokušaj da se kompleksnim istraživanjima različitih oblasti (klimatologija, botanika, geomorfologija) i međusobnom komparacijom dobijenih rezultata nadoknadi nedostatak instrumentalnih meteoroloških merenja na većim visinama. Dobijena klimatska rejonizacija koja se u uslovima Stare planine svodi na visinsku pojasnost jasno pokazuje direktnu uslovljenost klime, savremenog stanja u rasporedu vegetacije i savremenih periglacijalnih geomorfoloških procesa iznad gornje šumske granice. .

AB  - U radu su analizirani šumski požari na Deliblatskoj peščari u periodu 1948-2006., kao i geografski faktori od značaja za njihov nastanak. Za nastanak požara hidrotermičke karakteristike tla su od većeg značaja od regionalnoklimatskih karakteristika područja. U drugoj polovini 20. veka, promene klime na ovom području nisu bile dramatične, a dva od 3 najveća požara su se javila pre poslednje dekade, kada je porast temperature bio izrazitiji. Neklimatski faktori (povećanje površina pod borovima), imaju značajnu ulogu u pojavi katastrofalnih požara u Deliblatskoj peščari.

Factors of flooding the territory of the municipality of Obrenovac

AB  - Frequent floods in the area of the municipality of Obrenovac have initiated the establishing, classification and analysis of the starting factors of their genesis in this area. After the dam had been constructed on the right bank of the Sava River (in the 80’s of the 20th century) along the northern border of the municipality of Obrenovac, there were no more floods in this part of the area caused by its overflows. Recent floods have still been caused by a very frequent flooding of the River Kolubara near Poljana, even several times during the year. For that reason the factors of flooding the Kolubara River from its riverbed have been analyzed in this paper. Except the pluviometric and hydrological regime analysis as direct factors of flooding the indirect causes have also been analyzed in details, the most important of which are: the morphological characteristics of terrain, balance of deposits and anthropogenic impacts. Perceiving the causes of flooding, the conditions for analysis of undertaken measures and giving the possible solutions for their prevention have also been realized. The results of this research can be used in making the strategy for solving the existing waterpower problems of this area.
AB  - Česta pojava poplava na prostoru opštine Obrenovac inicirala je utvrđivanje klasifikaciju i analizu odredišnih faktora njihove geneze na ovom prostoru. Nakon izgradnje nasipa na desnoj obali Save (80-tih godina 20. veka) duž severne granice opštine Obrenovac, nisu se više dešavala plavljenja ovog prostora njenim izlivanjima. Recentna plavljenja su i dalje uslovljena veoma čestim izlivanjima reke Kolubare kod Poljana, čak i više puta u toku godine. Iz tog razloga, u ovom radu su analizirani faktori izlivanja Kolubare iz korita. Osim analize pluviometrijskog i hidrološkog režima, kao direktnih faktora nastanka poplava, detaljno su analizirani i indirektni uzroci, od kojih su najvažniji morfološke odlike terena, bilans nanosa i antropogeni uticaji. Sagledavanjem uzroka nastanka poplava ostvareni su i uslovi za analizu preduzetih mera i iznošenje mogućih rešenja za njihovo sprečavanje. Rezultati ovog istraživanja mogu se iskoristiti pri izradi strategije rešavanja postojećih vodoprivrednih problema ovog prostora.

The results of this research can be used in making the strategy for solving the existing waterpower problems of this area., Česta pojava poplava na prostoru opštine Obrenovac inicirala je utvrđivanje klasifikaciju i analizu odredišnih faktora njihove geneze na ovom prostoru. Nakon izgradnje nasipa na desnoj obali Save (80-tih godina 20. veka) duž severne granice opštine Obrenovac, nisu se više dešavala plavljenja ovog prostora njenim izlivanjima. Recentna plavljenja su i dalje uslovljena veoma čestim izlivanjima reke Kolubare kod Poljana, čak i više puta u toku godine. Iz tog razloga, u ovom radu su analizirani faktori izlivanja Kolubare iz korita. Osim analize pluviometrijskog i hidrološkog režima, kao direktnih faktora nastanka poplava, detaljno su analizirani i indirektni uzroci, od kojih su najvažniji morfološke odlike terena, bilans nanosa i antropogeni uticaji. Sagledavanjem uzroka nastanka poplava ostvareni su i uslovi za analizu preduzetih mera i iznošenje mogućih rešenja za njihovo sprečavanje. Rezultati ovog istraživanja mogu se iskoristiti pri izradi strategije rešavanja postojećih vodoprivrednih problema ovog prostora.",

AB  - Runoff is the basic element of the water balance and phase of hydrological cycle influenced by numerous factors. The determination of the influence of certain factors on the runoff process can have strategic importance for planning and control of water resources. The study explores and presents the structure of the total runoff process, as well as the degree of possible influence of various geological terrains on the water runoff in natural conditions.
AB  - Oticaj je osnovni element vodnog bilansa i faza hidrološkog ciklusa na koju utiču mnogobrojni faktori. Određivanje uticaja pojedinih faktora na proces oticaja može imati strateški značaj za planiranje i kontrolu vodnih resursa. U radu se izučava i prikazuje struktura procesa ukupnog oticaja, kao i stepena mogućeg uticaja različitih geoloških podloga na oticaj vode u prirodnim uslovima.
