AB  - Forest fires and landslides represent very frequent natural disasters in Serbia.
The Svrljiški Timok river basin is located in the southeastern part of the Republic of Serbia,
and according to natural characteristics it represents a significant area for geohazard study.
The task of the research is to analyse natural and anthropogenic condition by determining
locations which are susceptible to forest fires and landslides in order to protect the population
and infrastructure. Using Geographic Informational Systems (GIS) and available data,
their processing was started for the susceptibility of the terrain to forest fires using the RC
index. For the analysis of the territory occurrence of landslides the statistical Probability
method (PM) and Landslide Susceptibility Index (LSI) were used. The obtained results indicate
that 20.81% of the area of the Svrljiški Timok basin has a very high susceptibility to
forest fires, while 29.21% of the terrain is highly susceptible to landslides. The results
gained processing the RC index can be applied to adequate risk management of forest fires,
improvement of monitoring and early warning systems in the study area. Sustainable management
of agricultural land and improvement of environmental protection can be implemented
on the basis of the obtained results for the most endangered areas of landslides.
AB  - Шумски пожари и клизишта представљају веома учестале природне
непогоде у Србији. Слив Сврљишког Тимока налази се у југоисточном делу Републи-
ке Србије, и по природним карактеристикама представља подручје од значаја за про-
учавање геохазарда. Задатак истраживања јесте анализа природних и антропогених
услова са циљем утврђивања локација које су подложне настанку шумских пожара и
клизишта како би се заштитило становништво и инфраструктура. Применом гео-
графских информационих система (ГИС) и доступних података приступило се њихо-
вој обради за подложност терена шумским пожарима применом RC индекса. За пот-
ребе анализе територије за настанак клизишта коришћени су статистички Probability
метод (РМ) и Landslide Susceptibility Index (LSI). Добијени резултати указују да је на
20,81% подручја слива Сврљишког Тимока заступљена врло висока подложност нас-
танка шумских пожара, док је 29,21% терена изразито подложно настанку клизишта.
Резултати добијени обрадом RC индекса могу се применити за адекватно управљање
ризиком од шумских пожара, унапређење система мониторинга и раног упозоравања
на истраживаном простору. Одрживо управљање пољопривредним површинама и
унапређење заштите животне средине могуће је спровести на основу добијених
резултата за најугроженија подручја клизиштима.

непогоде у Србији. Слив Сврљишког Тимока налази се у југоисточном делу Републи-

учавање геохазарда. Задатак истраживања јесте анализа природних и антропогених
услова са циљем утврђивања локација које су подложне настанку шумских пожара и
клизишта како би се заштитило становништво и инфраструктура. Применом гео-

AB  - The municipality of Štrpce (Southern Serbia) is
an area located within Šar Mountain National Park, which
is of great ecological importance. Due to the vicinity of
settlements, it is necessary to analyze the terrain's susceptibility
to natural hazards. The main goal of this research
was to determine locations that are highly vulnerable at
times of natural hazards (such as earthquakes, erosion,
torrential flooding, snow avalanches, and forest fires).
The first step in this research was to analyze seismic
hazards for a 475 years return period (VII–VIII MCS for
the observed area), which was possible by means of
Geographic Information Systems. The second step was to
determine the intensity of erosion and total sediment production
using the Erosion Potential Model. The third step
was related to the analysis of the potential of torrential
floods using the Flash Flood Potential Index. The Avalanches
Potential Index method was used as the fourth step. The fifth
step included the analysis of a terrain susceptibility to the
occurrence of forest fires. Following the five criteria analysis,
weight coefficients were assigned to each of the analyzed parameters
by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), which
provided results of the total susceptibility to natural hazards of
the territory of Štrpce. Results indicated that over 45% of the
municipality is highly or very highly susceptible to various
natural hazards. This article represents a significant step
toward a better understanding of natural hazards and it
provides a unique knowledge basis for establishing the
management and mitigation guidelines and measures,
not only within the researched area but at regional and
national levels as well.

AB  - In this paper predisposition of the terrain for the emergence of torrents by application of Geographic Informational Systems (GIS) was made. Due to great ecological importance of this area, it is necessary to continuously monitor the state of the environment. High rainfall over a short period of time is the main cause of torrential floods, and because of the high elevation of Vlasina, the average annual rainfall exceeds 800 mm. The method used to determine the predisposition of a landscape of exceptional qualities (LOEQ) "Vlasina" on occurrence of torrential flood is the Flash Flood Potential Index (FFPI). To identify the possibility of torrential floods occurence, natural conditions were analyzed: slope of the terrain, types of geological substrate, vegetation density and the way the land use. Using the GIS tool, a map of the susceptibility of terrain to the occurrence of torrents in the territory of LOEQ "Vlasina" was obtained, and the classification of rivers was made based on the probability of occurrence of torrential floods on them.

AB  - Virus Covid-19 izazvao je velike promene u načinu života ljudi širom sveta. U slučaju epidemije i vanredne situacije na teritoriji jedne zemlje, veoma je značajno identifikovati potencijalna žarišta virusa i primeniti odgovarajuće mere u uklanjanju i ublažavanju istih. Upotrebom geografskih informacionih sistema (GIS) i dostupne baze podataka, moguće je pratiti prostorno i vremensko širenje virusa iz jedne lokalne samouprave u drugu, i tumačiti uzroke i posledice ove pojave i procesa. U ovom radu, pomoću GIS softverskih paketa i otvorenih podataka, analiziran je i kartografski prikazan broj zaraženih u Republici Srbiji po opštinama, u određenim kritičnim periodima, kao i broj novozaraženih u određenim vremenskim intervalima tokom trajanja vanrednog stanja.

AB  - Jonizujuće (radioaktivno) zračenje predstavlja jednu od većih nepoznanica kada je u pitanju koncentracija ovih čestica na prostoru AP Kosova i Metohije. U radu je prikazana analiza jonizujućeg zračenja u vazduhu na teritoriji opštine Štrpce. Upotrebom odgovarajućeg uređaja za merenje jonizujućeg zračenja i geografskih informacionih sistema, izvršeno je merenje na 25 lokacija širom opštine. Terenskim istraživanjem i kabinetskim radom dobijeni su geoprostorni podaci na osnovu kojih je formirana karta jonizujućeg zračenja za teritoriju Štrpca. U skladu za postojećom zakonskom regulativom i podzakonskim aktima, izvršena je komparativna analiza dobijenih vrednosti sa graničnim vrednostima propisanim za Republiku Srbiju. Cilj rada je prikaz trenutne koncentracije radionuklida u vazuduhu na teritoriji opštine Štrpce.

abstract = "Jonizujuće (radioaktivno) zračenje predstavlja jednu od većih nepoznanica kada je u pitanju koncentracija ovih čestica na prostoru AP Kosova i Metohije. U radu je prikazana analiza jonizujućeg zračenja u vazduhu na teritoriji opštine Štrpce. Upotrebom odgovarajućeg uređaja za merenje jonizujućeg zračenja i geografskih informacionih sistema, izvršeno je merenje na 25 lokacija širom opštine. Terenskim istraživanjem i kabinetskim radom dobijeni su geoprostorni podaci na osnovu kojih je formirana karta jonizujućeg zračenja za teritoriju Štrpca. U skladu za postojećom zakonskom regulativom i podzakonskim aktima, izvršena je komparativna analiza dobijenih vrednosti sa graničnim vrednostima propisanim za Republiku Srbiju. Cilj rada je prikaz trenutne koncentracije radionuklida u vazuduhu na teritoriji opštine Štrpce.",

AB  - U ovom radu analizirano je stanje intenziteta erozije u slivu reke Mlave, desne pritoke Dunava. Za određivanje koeficijenta, odnosno intenziteta erozije (Z) korišćen je metod Gavrilovića u kombinaciji sa indeksom ogolićenosti zemljišta (BSI), upotrebom multispektralnih satelitskih snimaka i geografskih informacionih sistema. Kao konačan produkt obrade geoprostornih podataka dobijena je sintezna karta intenziteta erozije u slivu Mlave. Površina sliva je 1843.28 km2, a srednji koeficijent erozije iznosi 0.34. Cilj rada jeste prikaz intenziteta erozije u slivu Mlave, a rezultati dobijeni primenom geografskih informacionih sistema (GIS) mogu se upotrebiti za adekvatnije upravljanje vodnim i zemljišnim resursima, zaštitu životne sredine i održivo planiranje šumskih područja.

AB  - Buka predstavlja jedan od najvećih problema današnjice u gusto naseljenim mestima. U radu su izvršena merenja nivoa buke kao jednog od indikatora stanja životne sredine. Kombinacijom kabinetskog i terenskog istraživanja obrađen je, i kartografski prikazan nivo buke tokom dana i noći za teritoriju opštine Štrpce. U zavisnosti od namene prostora (zona) i u skladu sa Zakonskim i podzakonskim okvirima koji bliže određuju ovu oblast, izdvojeno je 10 lokacija i izvršeno merenje na otvorenom prostoru. Upotrebom odgovarajućih GIS softverskih paketa i uređaja za merenje nivoa buke, zabeležene su i interpretirane vrednostiizražene u decibelima. Izvršena je identifikacija lokacija na kojima vrednosti prelaze propisane granične vrednosti. Cilj rada je utvrđivanje predloga mera za umanjenje nivoa buke na teritoriji opštine Štrpce kako bi se kvalitetnije upravljalo životnom sredinom.

Natural and energy potential of solar energy within the Vranje municipality

AB  - Renewable energy sources (RES) have increasingly been used worldwide with the aim of im-plementing sustainable development and reducing the environmental impact of harmful gases. The most significant potential of all types of RES is attributed to solar energy. The paper presents the analysis of natural and energy potentials for the construction of solar power plants in the territory of the municipality of Vranje. The following natural factors were processed and mapped using geo-graphic information systems (GIS): terrain slope, relief aspect, land use method, and protected are-as. The analysis also allowed for the anthropogenic factors: the proximity of roads and settlements, affecting the accessibility of the potential solar power plant, but also the possible negative impact on people health due to excessive electromagnetic radiation. Thematic maps were produced by cab-inet work, valorization and elimination methods. By processing thematic maps, the final, synthesis map of the benefits of using solar energy in the territory of the municipality of Vranje was obtained. By analyzing the synthesis map and suitable locations obtained, calculations of potential installed power of solar power plants for the Vranje area were made to get an adequate representation of the quantity of electric energy that can be generated by photovoltaic effect in solar panels.

AB  - Combustion of fossil fuels in thermal power plants releases large quantities of pollutants, the excessive air emission of which leads to health problems of the nearby population but also the disturbance of the state of all elements of the environment. The operation of the thermal power plant in the municipality of Obilić and the emission of pollutants endanger the population of Kosovo District in a health and ecological sense. By valorization and elimination methods, the paper analyzes the natural and anthropogenic conditions that have the most significant impact on the potential construction of solar power plants which would completely replace the operation of the thermal power plant and all the quantity of electricity generated by coal combustion. Geographic information systems (GIS) were used to analyze and interpret factors affecting the spatial distribution of potential solar power plants: terrain slope, relief aspect, land use method, protected areas, the proximity of roads and settlements. By analyzing the above factors, thematic maps showing the most suitable surfaces were obtained. Overlaying of thematic maps gave a synthesis map which provides an adequate view of appropriate locations for the construction of solar power plants. A comparative analysis was done between the strength of the existing thermal power plant and the potential installed powers of solar power plants which would fully supply the area of Kosovo District, as well as other districts in the territory of A. P. Kosovo and Metohija.

GIS application in analysis of erosion intensity in the Vlasina river basin

AB  - This paper analyses the state of erosion intensity in the Vlasina River Basin, the right tributary of the Južna Morava River. To determine the erosion intensity (Z) and sediment production, the Gavrilović method was used, in combination with the bare-soil index (BSI), with the application of geographic information systems (GIS) and multispectral satellite imagery. An erosion coefficient of 0.31 has been identified in the territory of the Vlasina River Basin, which has an area of 1,061.72 km². The prominent vertical fragmentation of the relief, large amount of precipitation in the source parts, density of the river network (1.65 km/km 2), which is above the average river network density in Serbia, as well as inadequate land exploitation, are the main reasons why it is necessary to monitor the erosion intensity in the Vlasina River Basin. The annual production of the sediment is 462,496.30 m³, while the value of specific sediment production is 435,47 m³/km²/year. This study represents the attempt to apply modern technologies to d1etermine the intensity of erosion in the Vlasina River Basin, and the results obtained could be used for more adequate management of land and water resources, sustainable planning of the forest ecosystems and environmental protection.

Za određivanje intenziteta erozije (Z) i produkcije nanosa korišćen je metod Gavrilovića u kombinaciji sa indeksom ogolićenosti zemljišta (BSI), primenom geografskih informacionih sistema (GIS) i multispektralnih satelitskih snimaka. Na teritoriji sliva Vlasine koji ima površinu od 1.061,72 km2, identifikovan je koeficijent erozije od 0,31. Izražena vertikalna raščlanjenost reljefa, velika količina padavina u izvorišnim delovima, gustina rečne mreže (1,65 km/km2) koja je iznad prosečne gustine rečne mreže u Srbiji, kao i neadekvatan način korišćenja zemljišta predstavljaju glavne razloge zbog kojih je potrebno pratiti intenzitet erozije u slivu Vlasine. Godišnja produkcija nanosa iznosi 462.496,30 m3, dok je vrednost specifične produkcije nanosa 435,47 m3/km2/god. Ovaj rad predstavlja pokušaj primene savremenih tehnologija za određivanje intenziteta erozije u slivu Vlasine, a dobijeni rezultati se mogu koristiti za adekvatnije upravljanje zemljišnim i vodnim resursima, održivo planiranje šumskih ekosistema i zaštitu životne sredine.

Natural and energy potentials of solar energy within the Negotin municipality

AB  - Nowadays, the proper implementation of sustainable development would not be possible with-out the usage of renewable energy resources. The main aim of this paper is oriented towards identifi-cation of proper location for the construction of solar power plants within the Negotin municipality, which could significantly reduce the usage of fossil fuels within this territory. Geographic information system (GIS) was conducted for detail analysis of the stated terrain, including the analysis regarding the natural conditions, such as the terrain inclination and its exposure, the manners of the land usage, natural hazards, as well as the analysis of protected areas. Methods of valorization and elimination of different locations throughout the GIS software were used for analysis of natural characteristics throughout the different maps, while processing the all maps together resulted in one final synthetic map. This map pointed to the potentials for using the solar energy on the territory of the Negotin mu-nicipality, based on the analysis of the most favorable climatic conditions. Synthesis map also pointed to the area with suitable locations for application of the solar energy. Finally, the analysis and calcu-lations of the general potentials of installed power of solar plants within this municipality were per-formed in order to obtain the adequate representation of the amount of the electricity that could be produced from photovoltaic solar panel systems.

AB  - Rad prikazuje mogućnosti korišćenja obnovljivih izvora energije na teritoriji opštine Štrpce. Opština Štrpce predstavlja jednu od najjužnijih opština na teritoriji Srbije. Zaštita životne sredine i koncept održivog razvoja podrazmevaju što manju degradaciju okoline, odnosno forsiranje energije koja bi manje štetila čovečanstvu. U ovom slučaju, obnovljivi izvori energije predstavljaju vid čiste energije koja ne emituje ugljen-dioksid, koji se smartra najvećim krivcem povećanja globalne temperature na Zemlji. Solarna energija, potencijali biomase i drugi vidovi alternativne energije trebalo bi da predstavljaju sadašnjost i budućnost na Zemlji. U radu se, pomoću geografskih informacionih sistema (GIS), identifikuju pogodne lokacije za primenu solarne energije i biomase u opštini Štrpce, čime bi se poboljšala energetska efikasnost i unapredila zaštita životne sredine na lokalnom nivou.

AB  - The paper presents the analysis of natural conditions for the development
of the agricultural branch – raspberry growing in the municipality of Štrpce. The following
analyses were carried out using GIS technology: the analysis of pedological cover, terrain
aspect and slope, hypsometric conditions, precipitation and land use methods. The
paper also presents the materials and methods for obtaining the final evaluation of the
conditions and assessing the natural characteristics for the territory of Štrpce. By cabinet
work, elimination method, and valorisation method through software packages, the
analysis and interpretation of natural characteristics was carried out on all maps individually.
In the geographic information systems, one of the most important materials
in research is the database, i.e. its availability and scope. The final version of the work is
formed by processing all natural conditions through GIS. The final result of the work and
research is a synthetic map of the benefits for raspberry growing in the area of Štrpce,
with pronounced areas suitable for the development of raspberry growing. The main reason
for determining these locations is the uncertain economic stability and insufficiently
informed local population due to the unfavourable political situation in the Autonomous
Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
