AB - According to estimates, 25% of the territory of the Republic of Serbia is affected by landslide processes. In the spring, when snowmelt is accompanied by the maximum amount of precipitation, a great number of landslides have been activated within the territory of Serbia. The year 2006 had a particularly large number of registered landslides accompanied by huge material damages. Because a landslide data base for the territory of Serbia does not exist, it is very difficult to carry out the regular assignment of land use and to make a spatial development strategy. This imposed a need for methodological development of landslide hazard zonation (LHZ) for the territory of Serbia. The Kolubara River Basin was selected as an area with a significant number of landslides occurence. The spatial distribution of landslides is a result of the interaction of many parameters. Landslide susceptibility zones in the Kolubara River basin were identified by heuristic analysis of landslide causal factors - local topography, morphological and geological setting, and the existing and past landslides identified the study area. Based on the results obtained in this study, it was found that 243.75 km(2) or 6.69% of the total area was prone to landsliding. The results can be implemented as a base for development of LHZ model for the overall territory of Serbia, and will represent the first step for compilation of a landslide data base.

AB - Many researches show that irregular deposition of waste is not dangerous for environment only, it is also growing danger for human health and modern way of living. Besides, there is no clear classification of dangerous, industrial, medical, slaughterhouse, toxic waste in our country. All of these are, in most cases, treated like the communal and could be found on the communal city deponies as a mixed communal waste. This is also very characteristic for Obrenovac. Great problem is irresponsible behavior of all structures in the county, starting from the local self-management, through the communal firms to citizens themselves. It is certain that the type and contents of waste depend on climate, way of life, as well as on living standards of the city where the waste is being deposited. Deponies are civilization products used for the deposition of substances that are not needed by people. Behavior of local self-management towards its waste points to the level of development of the community. Most roughly, it shows the relation between society and its environment, in other words the behavior towards its future in it. Communal deponies have very dangerous and toxic influence on the surface and underground waters. It is big cause of concern, considering the fact that our depony is based downstream the river Kolubara. Reason for concern is also the fact that city depony has not got project for the protection of environment, managing and monitoring, and controlling of waste that is being deposited there. Beside biochemical and physicochemical degradation of life environment, depony in Obrenovac very often causes many cattle illnesses and infections. Based on the presented data, we have tried to give evaluation and description of nowadays situation, regarding the "wild" and irresponsible deposition of many types of thrash and solid waste, on the territory of the Obrenovac county, as well as to give the register of wild deponies of our territory. Each wild depony that is registered is marked on the map (by GPS method) and digitized; their most noticeable characteristics are being described.
