AB - The intensive construction of road infrastructure due to urbanization and industrialization around the world carries with it negative environmental impacts, primarily due to increased emissions of gases, but also due to the separation of natural habitats and ecosystems. In order to overcome this problem, without affecting the mobility of the population, it is necessary to allow wild animals to cross over or below the roads, i.e. to create wildlife crossings, which requires knowledge of the locations where the corridors of animal movements intersect with existing or planned roads. This paper analysis the establishment of a camera system and the application of a deep learning methodology for the automatic identification of animals by species and number, in order to determine locations for the construction of crossings for large wildlife. Also, the paper presents the possibility of using geographic information systems to analyze information obtained by monitoring built wildlife crossings.

AB - Model for evaluating the attractiveness and competitiveness of a tourist destinations (ATD) is developed and applied to six competitive mountain destinations in the Balkans, which have not been the subject of similar research. Authors proposed a 15 indicators of ATD model, and classified them into two basic value groups: tourist and functional values. The model is based on survey research with focus on respondents -tourists, who are familiar with all destinations that are the subject of the survey. This study, in addition to the scientific contribution reflected in the presented indicators for assessing the attractiveness of mountain tourist destinations and the developed ATD model, also has a practical contribution. It is seen in the results, which should clearly indicate the attractiveness of the destination, their mutual competitiveness, as well as the segments to which the tourist destinations management should focus in the future when planning and creating a tourist offer, The results indicate differences and similarities among the analyzed tourist destinations, and could help define the development strategies for the destinations, The positioning of mountain tourist destinations in the same field of tourist attraction on the ATD Matrix, indicates that these destinations are competitive.

AB - This article presents geographic information system usage in transportation management for comfort calculations, analysing vehicle vibration data measured during patient transportation. The main goal of this article is to develop a methodology for automatic discomfort cause recognition (DCR) that may be tested under real life conditions. We analysed differences between uncomfortable locations detected by passengers during patient transportation (according to their subjective opinions) and uncomfortable locations detected by the measurement system. The measuring system is based on the three-axis accelerometer which is used to determine road comfort values for specific locations gathered by a GPS module. The results obtained were compared with data collected by passengers. During driving, when they experienced discomfort, passengers marked locations in near real time using the GIS. The data thus obtained were analysed with the data obtained by DCR. For the first time, the application of GIS provides analytical tools to create spatial data and define spatial data relations that determine comfort. Testing under real conditions, involving three separate cases, shows a high degree of correlation between the results. The proposed system allows dynamic comfort threshold criteria management and provides a visual representation of summarized tabular data.

AB - The role of applied geography has been increasing in interdisciplinary research due to the advantage of knowing spatial processes and relations. This role has reflected in the geo-ecological evaluations of a particular geographical area used for different social purposes. This paper represents the GIS analysis of the natural environment of a part of the Drina River flow in wider terms so to apply in recreational tourism. The quantitative V-Wert diversification method has used for the study with the focus on identification of the area that might be favorable for recreation. The analysis is based on the knowledge of natural geographical elements. Criteria taken into consideration are the edges of the forest and water, the relief energy, the manner in which the landscape is used and the climate factor. According to the benefits of the said purpose, the unfavorable areas amount to 1,520 km2 (34.43%), conditionally favorable areas amount to 2,418 km2 (54.77%), favorable areas amount to 310.33 km2 (7.03%), very favorable areas amount to 163 km2 (3.69%) and the most favorable areas amount to 3.67 km2 (0.08%). The category of very favorable recreation contains a large area (167 km2) from the total amount of 4245 km2.

AB - The modern way of life has affected the extremely high level of environmental degradation. Modern technologies, on the one hand, degrade our environment, but on the other they can also be used to preserve and improve its quality. An efficient monitoring system is able to monitor the status and changes in the vegetation cover of a particular area. In this paper will be shown the determination of the vegetation inventory of the settlement Vrčin through the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and comparison of the data thus obtained with the various available classifications of satellite images, in order to determine the best monitoring system in the environment through remote detection.

AB - With this work we want to affirm geoecological evaluation, planning and landscape management. Geoecological evaluation of the Belgrade region, for the purpose of rest and recreation, was performed with quantitative method of diversity (V-Wert Methode) of Hans Kiemstedt. The method is suitable for the determination of potential locations suitable for rest and recreation, with various forms of relief (edge of forest and water, then climate and relief). Due to the surface of the evaluated area and the amount of data that had to be processed, the benefits of geographic information systems are expressed. According to this geoecological analysis favorable and very favorable areas for recreation are tied exclusively to the river flows of Sava and Danube. Each of the four raster units, which are marked as very favorable for recreation, include items of river islands (Baric river island, River island Ciganlija, River island Grocanska, Batkov river island and River island Brestovacka), which have high values of the length of the edges of the water.
