AB - The subjects of this study are hydrogeothermal potentials of Rogozna mountain (Serbia) and possibility of their use. Thermo-mineral springs at the mountain's foothill are the leftovers from an intensive volcanic activity during the Tertiary. The most famous and the most valuable ones are the springs in Novopazarska Spa, Banjska and in the village of Vuca, with a number of springs yet to be examined. The hydrogeothermal potential of these springs is significant, with the total thermal power of 4.6 MWt and the thermal energy of 145.4 TJ/year, but these could be greatly enlarged through the additional investigation in the interior of Rogozna. It is believed that the primary reservoir lies at the approximate depth of 2 km and that the water temperature is about 120 degrees C. In the area of Rogozna mountain there are a lot of thermomineral springs (TM) with outlet temperature between 30 and 54 degrees C. The main goal of this study is to determine the thermo-mineral capacity and energy potential in the area of three spas. This study allows the hypothesis that thermo-mineral springs in the area of Rogozna mountain have large potential. The researched area of Rogozna mountain is insufficiently investigated geo-space, which is rich in thermo-mineral springs. Thermal sources in Rogozna mountain produce heat power of 4.6MWt or 1.4% of heat power given by all the sources in Serbia. The waters of these springs are solely used for balneological and recreational purposes. Yet they could successfully be used in warming and cooling the space, for greenhouses in fruit, vegetable and flower production. In the end, all geospatial data with the help of GIS advanced techniques were digitized and visualized.

AB - In the relatively small area of the National Park (NP) "Kopaonik" a lot of exogenous and endogenous processes took part and continue to act until present day. In this paper are presented the geotouristic resources evaluation results for six geosites in the NP "Kopaonik". The experts on this field gave their assessment in three versions. The first one is concerned with the evaluation of the educative contents, the second one is concerned with the evaluation of geotouristic values, while the third version, which is based on the Modified Geosite Assessment Model (MGAM) offers the assessment regarding education, aesthetic significance, protection, functional and touristic values. The M-GAM method takes in consideration the opinion of visitors along with the estimation of subindicators given by experts, on whom relies the previous two versions. The include of visitors in the evaluation process leads to more objective estimations. Results obtained by this study can be useful for the improvement and planning of touristic activities on geosites because, bearing in mind their significance for the tourists, they indicate on the lower values that require more attention in the future.

AB - There are about 240 geothermal occurrences with 60 commercial spas included in, which are spread throughout the territory of Serbia. The majority of springs and other surface manifestations are located along the southeastern edge of the country. Three spas Lukovska, Prolom and Kursumlijska are with the highest geothermal potential and balneology utilization. They are situated in the vicinity of Kursumlija, one of the largest municipalities in Serbia, but with poor economic development. Although the presence of these three spas and more than 23 thermal mineral springs with the temperature of water between 26.4 degrees and 68 degrees C reveal it among the great geothermal resources in Serbia, the extent and potential of these resources are poorly understood. The estimated capacity of geothermal energy in three spas and 20 springs is 620.36 (TJ/year) or 19.6 MWt. In spite of a vast quantity of this clean, renewable energy resource only a small percentage of it is used in balneology and extremely rarely for greenhouse heating. In Serbia the kind of energy mostly used belongs to dirty energy resources, such as timber, coal, oil, gas, natural gas, etc. The use of geothermal renewable energy for the heating of public institutions is highly recommendable and agrees with today's growing awareness of the environment protection and improvement of the quality of life. The additional use of it for heating in householders would reduce the import of natural gas and oil and would support the municipality and its inhabitants to escape from poverty.

AB - Reunion (French.: La Reunion, formerly: Ile Bourbon) is beside the Mauritius the largest and the youngest island on the Mascarene Plateau in the Indian Ocean. The island is of volcanic origin, formed through volcanic activity initiated by deeply settled "hot spot" inside the Earth's mantle. It was formed within the last 2,000,000 years from lava effusions whose volume is up to now nearly 75,000 km(3). Only 3% of its volume is emergent and the total height from the sea floor is 6,500 m. The island is about 40 km in width with about 800,000 inhabitants. The capital city is St Denis. The nature of the island is impressive: active volcano, mountains above 3,000 m in height and deep canyon, frequently exceeding 2,000 m in depth. Since 2010, about 40% of its area is announced a National park and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

AB - The Devil's City is a unique geomorphological site well known regarding strangely sculptured stony pillars or soil (clayey) pyramids, abandoned mines and two rare hydrologic occurrences. The present landscape is partly inherited from the paleo-volcanic topography and shaped afterwards by erosion, particularly linear erosion. Soil pyramids owe their origin to the differential erosion of a more compact andesitic level on less cohesive pyroclastic material and disintegrate relatively quickly when they lose their protective "cap". The pyramids are located along the two gullies, Devil's and Hell's. In the latter, also known as "The young Devil's City" the erosion process is in the beginning. The results of combined petrological and geomorphological studies permitted us to reconstruct past geological processes and predict the future evolution of the Devil's City. Geographic information system (GIS) and digital topographic modeling are becoming powerful tools not only in geographic sciences but also in geomorphological and geological modeling.
